Narrowing the Achievement Gap
It's a fact: supplemental educational services help narrow the achievement gap. Students who receive tutoring tend to perform better on standardized measures of academic achievement, increase engagement and enthusiasm for learning, and display greater pride and ownership in accomplishments.
Researchers also found that programs with professionally trained tutors whose work is connected to the classroom see the largest academic gains. Integrating tutoring programs in schools across the United States could dramatically improve the academic performance of elementary, middle, and high school students and help reduce the nation's dropout crisis.
